A Brief History of the Ford Edge
The Ford Edge mid-sized crossover SUV first appeared with the 2007 model year, and has been produced over two generations now. Named after a Ford Ranger trim package, the five-door SUV has featured gas or diesel naturally aspirated and turbocharged inline-four and V6 engines, which mated to automatic transmissions. Initially available with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is now standard.
