No results found for "muffler, mufflers". Here are some helpful search tips:

  • Search by a part name. Example: water pump.
  • Be less specific. Example: brake instead of ceramic brake.
  • Remove information such as make, year or model.
  • Can't find the part you are looking for? Contact us and we'll find it for you!

Your muffler goes bad, and your exhaust will end up damaged. That'll mean more than just engine trouble (and costly repairs). You'll likely end up on the wrong side of a noise ordinance, too, getting ticketed. That's sure to add to an otherwise expensive headache. Our advice: stay ahead of trouble -- fix that muffler sooner rather than later. Here at Ford Parts Center, we stock one of the best selections of OEM mufflers around, here in Bartow FL and nationwide. Not just for Ford vehicles, but Lincoln and Mercury, too. Take advantage of low prices: order now; we offer fast shipping anywhere in the US.

Ford Mufflers 101

The muffler is part of the exhaust in your Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicle. It cuts engine noise, on the one hand, and on the other, it helps shunt cleaner gases out of the system. A muffler should be replaced when you see symptoms of its failure -- otherwise, every 5 to 10 years or so.

Signs the Muffler in a Ford is Failing

They include a louder-running engine than usual, a hole in the muffler, excessive rattling sounds (from the muffler either coming loose or having cracked or broken), and rust and excess condensation in the car’s exhaust pipe. If the muffler chambers have corroded, making it so the exhaust can't flow properly, then the car may also run hot. Also, the engine may overheat, you may find fuel economy worsening, and you might smell something like rotten eggs in the cabin.

The Average Cost of Muffler Replacement

You might be looking at paying anywhere from $1,030 to $1,065, according to RepairPal. However, cost can vary by model; Ford F-150 muffler replacement, for example, may run $770 to $870. Lincoln Town Car muffler replacement, between $845 and $1,070; Mercury Mariner muffler replacement, $765 to $785, and so on.
